Joseph Furnari is a theatre artist and educator. He is a 2008 Surdna Arts Teachers Fellow and holds an Ed.D. in Art and Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. In New Orleans, Joseph has directed Enter Your Sleep and The Adventures of Buttboy and Tigger (Big Easy Award nomination – Best Director & Best Comedy) for The Elm Theatre, and the world premiere of Gayland (2013 New Orleans Fringe Festival). Acting credits include: Pontius Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar (Le Petit Theatre), Warden in Not About Nightingales (TWTC), Rocky Pioggi in The Iceman Cometh, Touchstone in As You Like It, Seymour Krelborn in Little Shop Of Horrors, and Sam Byck in Assassins.
